Home Grown Cyclocross

Here at CCORC we don’t think so. At least when it comes to having a great time on your bike. Due to complications with the Woodward CycloCross series CCORC is stepping up for 2008 to keep it alive.

What is the Home Grown Series?

CCORC has been intensely involved with the Woodward Cyclocross series since its inception. We are non-profit organization which works to ensure trail access and to promote sustainable trail access for off-road bicyclists through educating the public on sustainable trail design and construction, and to the building and maintaining of trails and by-ways on public lands for use by the public. In other words, we are all about riding in the dirt! As far as we are concerned, the only thing better than a bike race is an off-road bike race.

When the good folks at CCORC learned that the Woodward Cyclocross series was taking a hiatus we wanted to keep it alive. And more importantly, we wanted to keep it Fun and Inexpensive for the racers. To this end we are offering multiple same day races open to sport and beginners, race the 2nd same day race for only 10 bucks more. Why is this significant, if you are bike enthusiast who has not yet purchased a USA cycling license you can race twice on your one day license. Who loves you more than CCORC? Ok, Mom and your significant other do, but you get the point… So come out and race those bikes while supporting your favorite trail access defenders (CCORC). This Series is un-sponsored (We tried to be, but our sponsors were to cool, they sought us out) almost supported entirely by your participation and the volunteers at CCORC.

These races are great for first time racers or the experts looking to train for the “big” races.

You are not required to use a cyclocross for the Home Grown Series. All bikes are legal: Mountain bikes, cross bikes, fixed gear, single speed 29ers…
